Common Questions
Are nutrition estimates exact?
No. Nutrition values are approximate estimates and may be wrong. Hidden ingredients, portion sizes, preparation methods, restaurant meals, mixed dishes, and unclear photos can affect results. Review and edit estimates before saving.
Is Plate Pattern medical advice?
No. Plate Pattern is for personal tracking only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
How does Apple Health sync work?
If Apple Health nutrition sync is available in your version, it is off by default. Open Settings → Apple Health to choose which nutrition categories Plate Pattern may write. Plate Pattern does not read Apple Health data.
Turning sync off stops future writes but leaves prior entries in Apple Health. Archiving or deleting a Plate Pattern meal, signing out, or deleting your Plate Pattern account also does not remove prior Apple Health entries. Review or delete those entries in the Apple Health app.
How do I export or delete my data?
Use Settings → Export CSV to prepare a meal-log export. Use Settings → Delete account to delete your Plate Pattern account. See the account deletion page for details.
Does Plate Pattern keep my meal photos?
Plate Pattern is designed so meal photos are processed transiently for estimation and are not stored as a permanent photo archive by default.
